Randolph Michael Kacer

March 1, 1946 — August 7, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randolph (Randy) Michael Kacer on August 7th after a brief illness. Randy is survived by his wife, G Patricia (Patti), children, Debra Kacer Farrugia (Charles), Melissa DiSciascio Maynard (Elvie Andrew) and Philip Wolff (Patricia), grandchildren (Eric Farrugia, Penelope Dower, Brooke Biolsi (Josh), Nicholas Traxler, Cali Traxler, Austen Maynard, Courtney Maynard, Fallon Wolff, and Brooklyn Wolff, and his great grandchildren, Bryce, and Bryant Biolsi. and Ava Maynard. He is also survived by his sister, Joanne Overstreet and nieces, Erin, Jennifer, and Erica.

Randy, born March 1, 1946, grew up in St Albans, Queens and was an avid trumpet player. From an early age was a privileged member of several Drum and Bugle Corps and a founding member of the Long Island (NY) Express Drum and Bugle Corp, competing in competitions from coast to coast. Randy served in the National Guard, and then went on to serve the citizens of Nassau County (NY) Police Department for 20 years until his retirement. Never one to stay idle, Randy continued to serve the community while working for Securitas Security as a Security Officer, Site Supervisor and Director of Security at locations in California, Illinois, and New Jersey.

Randy always had a love for animals and for the last 20 years Randy was a lover of greyhounds. He and Patti love greyhounds, choosing to adopt and foster in both New Jersey and Florida. After moving to Florida, together they started Kacer Kennel and began racing their own dogs at the Orange Park Kennel Club. Kacer Kennels has since transitioned to the Kacer Kennel Greyhound Retirement Home and Randy leaves behind 10 retired greyhounds.

Randy was preceded in death by his great grandson Brett Shane Biolsi.

In Lieu of Flowers the family asks that donations be made in his name to Greyhound Hall of Fame (407 Buckeye, Abilene KS 67410) or Fourth and Gold, to find a humane cure for childhood cancer (Erin N Tracy, PO Box 6132, Jacksonville FL 32236).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 2pm at his home in Middleburg FL. Family and friends are invited to attend.
