Daniel Owen Kelley, age 64, of Doctor’s Inlet, Florida, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010 at his home after a long heroic battle with cancer. Daniel was born in Richmond, VA on December 7, 1946 to Owen and Grace Kelley, who predeceased him. His early years were spent in Georgia where his lifelong love of the Georgia Bulldogs began. He resided most of his life in Jacksonville and Green Cove Springs, Florida, graduating from Forrest High School in 1964. He attended St. Johns River Community College (PU) and was a founding member of the Kirby Street Boys. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country in the Vietnam War. He later retired as a logistic manager from the Department of Defense, NAS, Jacksonville. Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; son, Daniel Wesley; daughter-in-law, Adriane; grandsons, Owen Roland and Carson Finn Kelley; many other family members and lifelong friends who loved him. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Ashley Corbett officiating.
