Gene Elrod

Gene Elrod, 42, of Orange Park, FL passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2007. Born on June 21, 1964 in Rome, GA, he had been a Clay County resident since 2003, coming from Kennesaw, GA. After high school he continued his education in the field of Emergency Medical Services and worked as an EMT for a short time. Later he opened an irrigation company which he operated for many years. Gene enjoyed fishing and loved going to the beach with his children and riding motorcycles. He is survived by his beloved family, including: his father, Lonnie Howard Elrod of Canton, GA; mother, Laura Ann Young of Orange Park, FL; two children, Joshua Dustin Elrod and Christopher Dylan Elrod of Orange Park, FL; his sister Denise Coussens (Dane) of Orange Park, FL; and a host of extended family and friends. Memorial services will be held at Hibernia Baptist Church on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 10:00 am officiated by Brother Scott Yirka.
