Billy W. (Whitey) McKeithan was taken home by angels on January 29th after a 3 year brave fight with cancer.
He was born Janurary 4, 1944 in Hamlet, NC to the late Charles and Louise McKeithan. He is preceded in death by a brother Freddy McKeithan & nephews Corey McKeithan and James McKeithan.
He is survived by his wife Fran, daughter Kelly McKeithan Toranzo, son Chris McKeithan, stepdaughters Melanie Taylor and Deborah Sahlin. 7 grandchildren Breanna, Levi, Amber, Branden, Kimmy, Ryan and Emily, Brothers Charles McKeithan, Jim McKeithan and nephew Carey McKeithan.
He served his country in the Air Force and Army National Guard, Went to work for the Railroad Seaboard Cost Line later transferring to Jacksonville as a CSX employee. He retired after 37 years of service and went on to enjoy his passions in life, which were golfing, fishing, and raising a glass of scotch with his friends. He also loved his schoolmates "the class of 62" and always told stories of the good old days in Hamlet. As he would say," Life is Good."

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 4, 2011 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32218.
