Virginia Hopkins

Virginia “Ginny” Hopkins, 59, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on Monday, April 9, 2007 in Jacksonville, FL. Born to parents Herbert W. Heiser, Sr. and Virginia Mary Scott Heiser on May 6, 1947 in New York City, NY, she was of the Roman Catholic Faith. Ginny lived in the Virginia Beach area for many years and married Edward Wilson Hopkins, Jr. in August of 1968. She later moved to London, England, where she lived for four years and then to Naples, Italy, where she lived for one year before moving to the Green Cove Springs community a year ago. She worked for the Federal Civil Service as a Management Analyst after starting at the ground level and working her way up. She loved her work and she loved to travel. She also enjoyed the beach and arranging flowers, but above all, she loved her family. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her beloved husband of thirty eight years, Edward W. Hopkins, Jr.; two children, Amy H. Akridge (Andrew) of Valdosta, GA and Edward W. Hopkins, III of Chesapeake, VA; two step-children, Sherry Hughes of Walkerton, IN and Troy Hopkins (Rhonda) of Richmond, VA; three brothers, Herbert W. Heiser, Jr. (Linda) of Orange Park, FL, Edward Heiser and Gary Heiser, both of Virginia Beach, VA; and nine grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach, VA on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 11:00 am, officiated by Father Cristiano Brito.
