Clarence C. Skinner

Clarence C. Skinner, 92, passed away March 1, 2011 at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek in St. John’s, FL. He was born on July 30, 1918 to Floyd and Mary Harlow Skinner in Sullivan, Indiana. He graduated from Sullivan High School and was a veteran of WWII. He was a mechanic at the Chevrolet dealer in Sullivan and later became the mechanic at the Ford dealer there. While in Sullivan he was a very active member of Mount Calvary Methodist Church and later joined Sullivan Church of the Nazarene. His entire life revolved around family, the church and his work. Following retirement, he and his wife, Martha, moved to Lakeland, FL. They relocated to Westminster Woods on Julington Creek in 2007 to be closer to their daughter. Mr. Skinner is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Martha Sue Lisman Skinner; daughter, Wilma Jean (The Rev. David) Brazelton of Lakeland, FL; son The Rev. Leon (Cheryl) Skinner of Sacramento, CA; brother, Max (Mary Lou) Skinner of Denver, CO; sister, Cleo Palmer of Federal Way, WA; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mr. Skinner’s life will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek, 25 State Rd. 13, St. John’s, FL 32259 with The Rev’s Leon Skinner, David Brazelton, and Jean Goodwin participating. Mr. Skinner will be buried in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 12:30 pm Monday, March 7, 2011 with Military Honors conferred.
