Russell Sage Doane II

Petty Officer First Class Russell S. Doane II USN (Ret), 65, passed away March 2, 2011 in Orange Park. He was born October 17, 1945 in Providence, Rhode Island to Russell S. and Arline Bedore Doane. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and had moved to Orange Park 9 years ago from Lusby, MD. He was a Mason, a member of the Morocco Shrine Temple, the Clay County Shrine Club, the Elks Club, the VFW and American Legion Post 137. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Doane; son, Peter (Rebecca) Doane of Olympia, WA; daughters, Cheryl (Eric) Bouley of Allenstown, NH, Paula Doane of Richmond, CA and Cynthia (Chris Davis) Doane of Mocksville, NC; sisters, Frances (David) Bedell of Lake Worth, FL and Roberta (Steven) Goodwin of Conway, NH; grandchildren, Kayla, Benjamin, Luke, Kayleen and Michael; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service time. Interment will be at 2:30 pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218. Please sign the family’s online register book at www.broadusraines.com.
