Ralph Edward Dooley

June 30, 1953 — March 13, 2011

Ralph Edward Dooley, 57, born in Corbin, Kentucky June 30, 1953. Preceeded in death by his parents Marvin Monroe Dooley and Bertha Fay Dooley. On March 13, 2011 the good Lord slipped his earthly bonds and his spirit soared. From Kentucky his railroad background brought him to Jacksonville where he married, raised his family, and put down roots. Ralph knew how to enjoy life and he lived it to the fullest. He has touched so many people in so many ways. Ralph loved his family very much, his countless friends, his Lord and Masonic Lodge. He and Brenda gave freely of their love, their time, their home, and their money to all in need. They surely set the bar of humanity to unknown heights. Ralph was past master of Ionic Lodge no. 101. F&AM and was Treasurer from 1996 to present. He was also a 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Jacksonville. Ralph is survived by a loving family who will miss his loving ways and wonderful way of life. His wife and love of his life, Brenda Dooley, who was Ralphs light; Ralph’s sons, Vincent Dooley and Christopher Streett; daughter Lindsay Dooley; daughter in law who he loved as his own, Jennifer Streett. Ralph has two beautiful grandchildren who he loved dearly, Alyssa Streett and Christpher Streett Jr. Ralphs loving sisters Nancy Kerr and Linda Gallagher (husband Gary), and nephew Chaz Wireman. Ralph held them all close to his heart. Ralph has a long list of loved ones, some who he watched grow up from children, as he was like a second father and friend to so many who loved and enjoyed him so much as "Eddie". This world is a better place to so many due to Ralphs light. His family will always love him, miss him, and think of him with a smile.... Services will be held at the CrossRoad United Methodist Church, 10005 Gate Parkway N. Jax. FL 32246 on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Pastor George Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends in the church for visitation from 1:00 pm until service time. Masonic Rites will be conferred at the service. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.broadusraines.com. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, 501 Spring St., Green Cove Springs, FL (904) 284-4000.
