Ronald “Ron” Trentt passed away May 2, 2011 in the Orange Park, FL at the age of 71. He was born to parents Harry and Bernice Trentt on February 16, 1940 in Aurora, Illinois. Ron married Reta Clayton on March 27, 1977 and was blessed with a daughter, Marsha and son, Bill. He worked as a police officer for Kendall County, Illinois for 20 years. Ron served as Moosehaven Admissions Director from 2001 to 2007. Prior to that, he had served since 1988 as Admissions Coordinator for both Mooseheart and Moosehaven, based at Moose International headquarters. Ron was the official Mooseheart Santa and Easter Bunny for 20 years. He managed and coached both boys’ baseball and girls’ softball programs for many years. Ron became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in 1976 when he joined Batavia, IL Lodge #682. He served as Inner Guard, Trustee, Treasurer, Prelate, Jr. Governor, Governor, Past Governor and Administrator. He was also Membership Chairman, Civic Affairs Chairman and in charge of children’s party activities. His activities in the Illinois Moose Association included Membership Chairman, Activities Chairman, District President and Mooseheart-Moosehaven Representative. He received his Fellowship Degree of Honor on June 23, 1981 and Pilgrim Degree of Merit on May 25, 1991. He was a Life Member of Mecca Moose Legion 9 and enrolled 366 members in his lifetime. Ron and Reta came to Moosehaven on August 1, 2007 where they have resided for 3 years. He is survived by his wife Reta Trentt; daughter, Marsha (Jerry) Evitts of Aurora, Illinois and a son Bill Soule (Maria) of Oxnard, California; Three Grandchildren Jacqui, William and Alex. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Moosehaven Chapel followed by entombment in the Moosehaven Mausoleum. Services officiated by Rev. Helen Taylor and Officers of Opportunity Lodge. Please sign the family’s online register book at www.broadusraines.com.
