Richard Dale Walter, 80, of Corry, PA passed away Monday, May 21, 2007 in Green Cove Springs, FL. Born to parents Charles A. and Geraldine Walter on September 17, 1926 in Grove City, PA, he was raised in Harrisville, PA and later moved to Erie. Following his honorable service to his country during World War II in The United States Air Force, he began a career as a Service Engineer in the locomotive industry. His career afforded him the opportunity to travel the world, and he lived in South Africa before moving back to Corry. Mr. Walter was a member of American Legion Post 852 in Harrisville, PA for sixty years, as well as a member of The East Erie Turners. He was also a pilot and loved to fly and travel. Mr. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Geraldine; two sons, Kevin and Richard; and two sisters, Maxine and Jane. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Lois M. Walter; one daughter, Robin Ganze (Ludwig) of Corry, PA; one brother, Shirl Walter (Jean) of Little Rock, AK; three grandchildren, Amy (Steve), Jennifer (Josh), and Carrie (Jeffry); and nine great-grandchildren, Danielle, Stephan, Quinlan, Nathanael, Tristan, Alexis, Kristof, Hannah, and Madeline. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Dusckas Funeral Home, Erie, PA on Friday, May 25, 2007 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Dusckas Funeral Home on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor George Heiser.
