Lorene Gay Thacker

Lorene Gay Thacker, 78, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Wednesday, 18, 2011. She was born on August 29, 1934 in Grundy, VA to parents Claude and Sophie Clevinger. Mrs. Thacker was a librarian known as the “Bookmobile Lady” for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of the Little Ruth Old Regular Baptist Church. Mrs. Thacker has lived in Green Cove Springs for over 50 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Elmer Thacker and son Steven. Mrs. Thacker is survived by her son, Paul (Teresa) Thacker of Green Cove Springs, FL, brother, Jerry (Janie) Clevinger; sister, Alice (John) Woods; 3 grandchildren, Jason, Jeffrey (Misty) and Zachary; 4 great-grandchildren, Abbey, Haley, Caleb and Keira. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, May 20, 2011 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 21, 2011 in the Little Ruth Old Regular Baptist Church with Elder Albert Hamilton and Elder Terry Fuller officiating.
