Helen Elizabeth Horne

Helen Elizabeth Horne, 56, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2011 in Palatka, FL. She was born on November 2, 1954 in Lewiston, ME to parents Raymond William Whiting, Sr. and Fernande Guimond Giguere. Helen was a resident of Clay County for the past 25 years. Mrs. Horne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Helen loved to cook and surf the internet. She worked as an Inventory Control Manager at Winn Dixie for the past 18 years. Helen enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. Her favorite driver was Carl Edwards; she loved seeing him do his flip after winning a race. She loved to watch the Jaguars football games. Her family said the Jaguars have lost their biggest fan since she knew everything there was to know about the Jags. She was a huge lover of cats and was a true feline at heart. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Warren Horne; son, Dana Cote; step-daughter, Lisa Nelson; brothers, Harold, Gary, Raymond, Jr., Mark and Michael Whiting; sisters, Gloria Capo, Debra Belanger, Lena Paradis and Gail Combs and grandchildren, Jamie Nelson and Sophia Duran. Funeral services for Mrs. Horne will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 3:00 pm with Donald Capo officiating.
