Daniel M. Knight

Daniel M. Knight, 79, of Orange Park, FL passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011. He was born on May 2, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Leon and Gertrude Roller Knight. He moved to the Orange Park area in 1980 coming from Ft. Lauderdale. Mr. Knight served his country honorably in the United States Army, 11th Airborne, during the Korean conflict. Daniel was self employed working in sales. He enjoyed collecting stamps and loved writing and telling stories to his family and friends. “Papa”, as he was known to his grandchildren, had a wonderful sense of humor. Daniel was a devoted family man who will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lilajean Knight; daughter, Laurie Monica Knight Soucy; sister, Milicent Bristrowitz; grandchildren, Michael J. Knight Soucy and his wife Katherine, Kenneth Mark Knight Soucy, Richard Paul Knight Soucy and Kristiana Elyse Knight Soucy. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Good Samaritan Anglican Church, 3813 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL 32068 with The Reverend Hall Hunt officiating.
