James Edward Kersey, Jr.

James Edward Kersey, Jr., 74, passed away July 22, 2011 in Orange Park, Florida. Mr. Kersey was born on August 14, 1936 in Green Cove Springs to James Sr. & Dorothy Kersey. James, a retired truck driver, was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of the N.R.A. He was known to enjoy spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Kersey; his mother, Dorothy Valentine; sons, Kevin (Laura), Keith (Carla) and Kent (Linda) Kersey; daughter, Kim (Jeff) Carlier; brothers, Doug and Jack Kersey; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and longtime friend, Loretta Thompson. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, July 25, 2011 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the First Black Creek Baptist Church, 3904 SR 16 W., Penney Farms, Florida 32079 with Rev. Bobbie Register officiating.
