Cecil L. Dixon, Sr.

Cecil L. Dixon, Sr., 83, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007. He was born to parents Alfred Kennedy and Ella (Tippens) Dixon on November 9, 1923 in Prichard, AL. He married Ellen Mary Duke on February 2, 1951 and moved to the Green Cove Springs community thirty seven years ago from his hometown of Mobile, AL. Mr. Dixon served his nation in The United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant and retired after 20 years of honorable service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club. Mr. Dixon is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ellen Dixon; nine children: Cecilia “Cookie” Banks of Pensacola, FL, Alfred Dixon of Jacksonville, Diane Waters and Harold Dixon of Green Cove Springs, Debra Krage of IL, Curtis Dixon of WI, Robert Dixon, Cecil L. Dixon, Jr., and Mary Prod, all of Green Cove Springs; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with visitation following until 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 10:00 am officiated by Father Donal Sullivan and Father James R.
