Dennis Edward Machie, Sr.

Dennis Edward Machie Sr. “Pop” (N1UA), 62, of Middleburg passed away Friday, September 2, 2011. He was born November 30, 1948 in Hartford, Ct. He passed at home with his close family by his side after a long battle with cancer. He displayed courage, dignity and grace throughout his cancer battle. He was a husband and best friend. He was a retired ARCO & EXXON Service Station Owner. The love of Amateur Radio gave him extensive radio contacts all over the world. He even had contact with the Space Shuttle Atlantis when it was docked to Russian Space Station MIR. In addition he enjoyed motorcycling, camping, auto mechanics and electronics. Dennis also was an active member of the BMW Motorcycle Club of Northeast Florida. Preceding him in death were his parents; Milford and Catherine Machie; his sister Mary Ann Machie. Surviving are his beloved wife of 42 years and best friend, Patricia Machie; son, Dennis Edward Machie Jr of Ocala and Timothy Wilkinson of Middletown, Connecticut; Grandson, Dennis Edward Machie III of Ocala; sister, Kay Nordquist of Portland, Connecticut.; brother, James & Cathy Machie of Willimantic, Connecticut.
