Mildred Georgiana Doxey

Mildred Georgiana Doxey, 89, of Penney Farms, FL, passed away September 8, 2011. She was born on May 9, 1922 in Schenectady, New York to Alexander and Georgina Christison. She and her late husband had moved to the Penney Farms Retirement Community from Carol Stream, IL nearly 20 years ago. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Penney Memorial Church. Mrs. Doxey was predeceased by her beloved husband, George A. Doxey Sr. in 2007, by a daughter-in-law and by two grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, George A. Doxey, Jr. (Cynthia) of Clarksville, TN, Paul W. Doxey (Karen Erickson) of Wheaton, IL, and Alan D. Doxey (Kathy) of Champaign, IL, by a daughter, Peggy Stansel (Wayne) of West Palm Beach, FL, by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Penney Memorial Church on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Private interment services will follow in Penney Farms Cemetery.
