Ernest Hall, Jr., 79, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007. He was born August 14, 1927 in Samson, AL to parents, Ernest Leman Hall and Ethel Arnold Hall. Mr. Hall was a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs and a World War II Veteran, serving from 1944-1947 in the Merchant Marines. He was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church and had retired from Hudson Pulp & Paper in Palatka as well as being a retired electrician for the City of Green Cove Springs. Mr. Hall was a founding member and past-president of the Gids Bay Hunt Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Betty Hall and is survived by his 5 sons, Larry Hall (Kay) of Alachua, FL, Joey Hall of Palatka, FL, Lamar Chesser, David Chesser (Robin) and Tony Hall, all of Middleburg, FL; 3 sisters, Katie Hooks of West Palm, FL, Nell Collins of Jacksonville, FL and Polly Gonyon of Ocala, FL; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, July 9, 2007 at Russell Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
