August Frederick "Fred" Hussmann, Jr.

August Frederick "Fred" Hussmann, Jr, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother & uncle peacefully went to be with his Lord September 8, 2011. Fred was born January 9, 1928 to the late August & Ann Hussmann in Carney, NJ. He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart & devoted wife of 60 years Dody & his daugther Gay Carotenuto. He is survived by his daughter Lynda Lloyd (Frank), son Glen (Teresa); grandchildren Pam Ellis (Jeff), Kim & Alex (Brittany) Hussmann, Anthony Aque & Jesse Carotenuto; great grandchildren Olivia, Davis & Samuel Ellis; brother Jimmy (Debbie) Hussmann. Fred graduated from Belleville High (NJ) in 1947 where he met his beloved Dody. For 35 years they lived in Holmdel, NJ. He served as Fire Chief of Hazlet Fire Co where he was a member for 50+ yrs. He was an active member of Salaam Temple serving in the Motor Corps & as Potentate. He was a Master Mason for 50+ yrs, a member of Scottish Rite & Royal Order of Jesters. They moved to Fleming Island in 1990 where he quickly became involved at Morocco Temple & the Shrine Circus. He was a service oriented man & enjoyed assisting others. He will be remembered fondly by family & friends as a loyal & loving man. A memorial service will be held Oct 15th 1pm at South Jax Presbyterian 2137 Hendricks Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hazlet Fire Company, Holmdel Rd. Hazlet, NJ 07733.
