Barbara Joan Congdon

Barbara Joan Congdon, 71, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007. She was born on December 1, 1935 in Chittenden County, VT to parents, Donald and Gladys Farrell, Sr. Mrs. Congdon lived in the Vermont area most of her life prior to moving to McAllister, TX for two years before settling down in the Middleburg area. She was retired from General Electric in Rutland, VT and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit#0031 in VT. She loved her dogs Molly & Cookie as well as traveling and spending time with her loving family. Mrs. Congdon loved life and enjoyed sewing and gardening but her favorite thing to do was to “shop”. Mrs. Congdon was preceded in death by her first husband of 17 years, Jackie Lloyd Hays, Sr. and two brothers, Donald Jr. and Michael Farrell. Mrs. Congdon was a loving wife and mother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of almost 30 years, Bernard Congdon, Sr.; three sons, Jackie Lloyd Hays, Jr. (Robin) of Harpers Ferry, WV, Ricky Lee Hays and Jeffrey L. Hays (Brenda) of Middleburg, FL; grandchildren, Catherine, Jacob and Maddison Hays, of Harpers Ferry, WV; Candace and Carmen Hays, of Middleburg, FL.
