Gordon H. Kemp, Sr., 64, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007. He was born on November 26, 1942 in Centralia, IL to parents, Gordon and Alta Kemp. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving his country in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a truck driver. Mr. Kemp enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, laughing and telling jokes. He was known for driving his “Green Acres” tractor and his “Country Limousine.” Mr. Kemp was a member of Church of the Brethren in Middleburg and loved his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his loving wife of 12 years, Marge A. Kemp; children, Christopher Scott Kemp, Kathleen K. Gordon (Richard E., Sr.), Mary Louise Zingg (Russell), Gordon H. Kemp, Jr., Jerry L. Stanley (Marta), Rita M. Stahl (Dennis), Ruth A. Lewis (James), Kenneth P. Schroer and Kristy Lynn Craig (David); brothers, Richard Kemp (Donna) and William Kemp (Barb); sisters, Jerry Linder (Wayne), Bonnie and Rhoda; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 3, 2007 at Church of the Brethren with Reverend Charles J. McGuckin officiating. Military honors will be given at the church.
