Paul Richard “Dick” Beseler, 80, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011. Dick was born on June 2, 1931 on the North Dakota prairie in Emmons County to William and Martha Beseler. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving his country in the United States Navy and transferred to the Atlantic Reserve Fleet in Green Cove Springs where he would spend the rest of his life. He married Jimmie Dell Bonner on December 10, 1950 and their great love affair lasted almost 62 years. Dick was the owner of Beseler Motors which he and Jimmie Dell started in 1957 and they operated together until retirement in 1981. Dick and Jimmie Dell were blessed with their only child, Rick and the family shared many great years living on the river in Green Cove Springs. Dick served three terms on the Green Cove Springs City Council which included serving as Mayor. While being blessed with good health and happiness for many years, sad times began when Jimmie Dell passed away in September of this year leaving Dick broken hearted. Survivors include his son, Sheriff Rick (Joan) Beseler; grandchildren, Sunny Beseler, Tracie (Jesse) McRae and Martin (Angel) Carlisle. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Orange Avenue Baptist Church, 1106 N. Orange Avenue in Green Cove Springs on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Billy Mills officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
