Clifford “Bud” L. Geiger, Jr., 82, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011. He was born on May 24, 1929 in Jacksonville, FL to Clifford and Sara George Geiger. Bud was a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and a Korean War Veteran. He was a decorated combat veteran who was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, multiple air medals and other unit and personal awards. He flew the B-26 in combat in 50 plus night missions. Upon returning stateside he was an instructor pilot qualified for the T-33 and P-51 Mustang. He was a graduate of the Ringling Art School in Sarasota and received his Pharmaceutical Degree from the University of Florida. Bud worked at Mayhugh’s Drug Store in Green Cove Springs as their pharmacist for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Faye Geiger; children, Mike Geiger (Janet), Jimmy Geiger, Katie Geiger Terhaar (Mike), Mary Lou Geiger Stable (Chuck), Tina Geiger Kerr (David), Wayne Carter (Lynn) and Daiseylee Shaffer; brother, Stewart Geiger (Madeline) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Ronnie Surrency and Rev. Joe Barrie officiating.
