William “Bill” Berry, 82, of Daytona Beach, FL passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 in Green Cove Springs, FL. He was born on January 28, 1925 to parents Francis and Marion Berry in Manhattan, New York and was of the Jewish faith. He graduated DeWitt Clinton High School in 1942 and lived most of his life in Queens, NY and the surrounding area. He honorably served his country in The United States Army and received several medals for his service during WWII. Following his military service, he began a career with The United States Post Office, from which he retired in January of 1980. Bill moved from New York to Daytona Beach after his retirement and he loved cars, everything from race cars to model cars. Mr. Berry was a lifetime member of The Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, having joined Post #104 in NY, NY and most recently a member of Post #8083 in Belleview, FL. He was also a 55 year member and Third Degree Mason having joined Masonic Lodge #904, Nathan Straus-Netherland Lodge in 1948 in NY, NY and most recently a member of the Joseph Warren-Gothic Lodge #934, also in NY. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Frances Berry; his loving daughter, Lydia E. Berry of Burtonsville, MD; and his sister, Claire Johnson of Asheville, NC.
