Patricia Maxine Pettis passed away on February 20, 2012 in Orange Park, Fl at the age of 79. Pat was born to J.B. and Bertha Dukes on November 5, 1932 in Columbus, GA. She married Mr. Joseph Pettis on February 8, 1954 in Skipperville, Alabama. They had six children Sandra, Linda, Judy, Joe, Naomi and Danny. She was employed as a cashier for the US Military for 20 years and retired at the age of 62. She most enjoyed her years as a homemaker and mother. Pat became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in 1946 when her husband, Joseph joined Warner Robins, GA Lodge 1688 and she joined Chapter 1353 on July 12, 1983. She was very active in the Chapter. She received her Academy of Friendship on February 17, 1991, Past Regent on May 1, 1999 and the College of Regents on May 24, 2003. She became a member of the 25-club on January 12, 1993 having sponsored 9was Senior Regent three times. Pat was a proud member of Warner Robins and said one time, that after her husband, Joe passed away, she doesn’t know what she would have done with them. She was also very proud of her family for also joining the Moose. Pat came to Moosehaven on June 1, 2004 where she resided for almost 8 years. Pat enjoyed all the functions here, so I know she had to be a hoot in her earlier years at the Lodge and Chapter functions. There were many times that we would get her on the dance floor in her wheel chair and she had the best time with the one she danced with. She moved around like
Funeral Services held Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in the Moosehaven Chapel at 1:30 PM followed by burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery, Warner Robins, Georgia. Services conducted by Rev. Helen Taylor and Officers of Opportunity Chapter. Her husband Joe, daughters, Naomi and Linda, great grandson, Joshua and her brother, Jack Dukes, predeceased her. She is survived by two sons Joe Pettis of Montgomery, Alabama and Dan (Donna) Pettis of Warner Robins, GA and two daughters Sandra Duffell of Byron, GA and Judy (Dale) Barnickel of Byron, GA and 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
