Shirley Mae Wood

Shirley Mae Wood, 70, passed away February 24, 2012. She was born on July 11, 1941 in Roanoke, VA to Leonard and Annie Aliff. Mrs. Wood had moved to Florida in 1979 from Fredericksburg, VA and attended the Congregational Holiness Church and First Baptist Church of Green Cove Springs. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she will be missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Barbara Rock. Survivors include her husband, Barry Wood; children, Sherry Holland, Roger, Robert (Jill) and Hugh Wood, all of Florida; brothers, Danny, Junior and Glen Aliff, all of Salem, VA; sister, Ellen Brown of Fredericksburg, VA; Grandchildren, Crystal (Donny) Henderson, Lisa, Tommy, Brian, Dustin and David Amerson; Mandy Chrissy, Michael, Tessa and Kayla Wood; Grace Wood; Nathan and Damon Wood; 9 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday March 5, 2012 at Congregational Holiness Church, 2079 S.R. 16 West, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. Reverend Ronnie Surrency will officiate.
