Dottie Brackebush

Dottie Brackebush, 70, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007. She was born on April 21, 1937 in New York, NY to parents, James and Theresa Jenson. Mrs. Brackebush attended Ft. Lauderdale Central High School, where she met her future husband, Bob. She later attended Stetson University for one year. She was an Army wife for 24 years and she and Bob lived all over the world. Mrs. Brackebush had worked at Atlantic Federal Savings & Loan in Ft. Lauderdale; worked in retail for Sears for 10 years and worked in retail for Dayton’s for 3 years. After retirement, she and Bob lived in Tacoma, WA for 18 ½ years. They moved to the local area 4 years ago from Farmington, MN. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Middleburg, FL and was in their Serendipity bible study group. Mrs. Brackebush was an organist and was a published poet with a book of poetry. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her son, James E. Brackebush and her sister, Marie Massey. Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Robert E. Brackebush; daughters, Jennifer Lynn Clemons of Tacoma, WA and Laurie M. Leaf of Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law, Albert Massey of Cocoa, FL; grandchildren, Samantha R. Leaf, Matthew R. Fuller and Heather M. Clemons and great-grandchild, Conner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 6, 2007 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Marc A. Kappel officiating. Visitation will be in the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
