Juanita Nichols, 85, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2007. She was born on May 15, 1922 in Gainesville, FL to parents, Ernest and Maria Kopp, Sr. Mrs. Nichols was a homemaker and was formerly a member of Assumption Catholic Church and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was a member of their Church Guild. She had been a member of the Southside Woman’s Club and enjoyed china painting, flower arranging and cooking. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Maria Alvarez (David), Aimee Johnson (Julian) and Lilli Moniot (Eugene); siblings, Minnie Thompson and Ernest Kopp, Jr. (Jane); grandchildren, Maria Knighton (Jack), Melissa Martin (Todd), Michael Alvarez (Katie), Allison Mall (Jeff), Trey Johnson (Andrea), Victoria Whitacre, Katherine Johnson, Alyssa Griner (John) and Michael Moniot and 15 great-grandchildren. A Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, September 7, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with visitation following the service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7190 Hwy. 17 So., Green Cove Springs with Father Donal Sullivan as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to All Saints Catholic Home, 5888 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32244.
