Sallie Joan McElroy Davis of Orange Park, Florida went to celebrate
Easter with her Heavenly Father Saturday, April 7, 2012. She was born
March 26, 1932 to Horace and Berta McElroy in Tate County, Mississippi.
The McElroy family came to Orange Park in 1946. Joan was a member of the Women of the Moose, Lake Shore, FL Chapter 1495, and Island View Baptist Church. She worked in medical records at Moosehaven for 28 years before retiring.
Joan is predeceased by her parents, and her sister, Carol L. LeFebvre.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marvin E. Davis; three
daughters, Claire D. Smith, Melissa D. West, and Martha D. Boatright
(Brian); seven grandchildren, Kelly Smith, Josh Smith (Lori), Andrew
West, Allison Mattox (Bruce), Robin Catbagan (Neilson), Anja Boatright, and Calla Boatright; one great-grandson, Owen Catbagan; numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Funeral Services in celebration of her life will be Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Moosehaven Chapel in Orange Park with Pastor Kevin Collison officiating. The family will greet friends at the Chapel at 9:00 a.m. before the service. Interment will be at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
