Alta Vera Billings Kidd

Alta Vera Billings Kidd, 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012 surrounded by her loving family and friends at her home in Green Cove Springs, FL. She was born on January 19, 1939 in Jacksonville, FL to parents Robert Lee and Ezella Massey Billings. Mrs. Kidd had been a resident of Green Cove Springs, FL since 1976. Alta was an employee of Challenge Enterprises, formerly CCAR, for 10 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend. Alta loved to read and write short stories and was one of those people who a person could sit and talk with for hours. Alta never met a stranger. She always would see the good in a person but she could be a very feisty lady if you messed with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Olin Odell Kidd, Jr. and is survived by her son James Kidd (Carol Wright), her twin children Gerald Kidd and Lori Kidd Golisch and her husband Scott; grandchildren, Zachary James Kidd, Stace Rae Kidd and Anna Marie Golisch; brother, Eugene Billings; special friends and caregivers, Alan and Ashleigh Wittkamp, Donna, Michael and Jeffrey Minigh, Elizabeth “Liz” Avey and Les Parvin. Funeral services for Mrs. Kidd will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Russell Franklin officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Please sign the family’s guestbook at www.broadusraines.com.
