Loren E. Carter, 76, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. He was born on April 21, 1936 in Blackshear, GA to parents Hobson and Mamie Carter. Loren honorably served his country, in the United States Army. He moved to the local area in 1973 from Waycross, GA. Mr. Carter opened Automizer Auto Repair Shop off of Blanding Blvd., in the Cedar Hills area, in 1975. He sold his business in 2006, so he and his wife could retire and enjoy the good life. Mr. Carter’s reputation preceded him as being an honest and well respected business man. His family will tell you that God broke the mold when He made Loren Carter. In his spare time he loved to bowl, fish and was known to be a heck of a Horse Shoe thrower, a real “Ringer”. Loren will always be remembered as an adorable husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He has been a member of Blanding Blvd Baptist Church since 1978, and currently attends Crystal Springs Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy Carter; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; daughters, Beverly Isacs (Bobby) and Cindy McDonald (James); grandchildren, Ashley, Holly, Kyle and Morgan and 5 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in his honor, 2:00 pm, Friday, June 8, 2012 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Robert L. Davis officiating.
