Evelyn Blanche Hayman Kent, 84, passed away across the veil of midnight on Wednesday, June 6, at her home in Jacksonville. A native Floridian born in Tampa, Blanche has lived in Jacksonville 62 years. She is survived by a sister, Virginia Hayman Pass; daughter, Mary Forrest; son, John H. Kent, Jr.; grandchildren, Amanda Forrest and Aaron Forrest; great-grandchildren, Dillon Arthur and Ian Edmonson; with extended family including three nieces and four nephews. A celebration of Blanche’s life and home going will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 1:00 pm in Cedar Hills Baptist Church, 4200 Jammes Road, Jacksonville, FL, where she was a near-charter member. There will be a reception following for all family and friends to gather. Internment will be held at a later date in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, alongside her husband and partner of 64 years, John H. Kent, Sr., who passed away in December, 2011.
