Cheryl G. Schumacher, 60, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2007. She was born to parents Eugene and Maxine Hopson on February 6, 1947 in Fort Riley, KS. She married her beloved husband, Charles “Skip” Schumacher in 1972 and together they moved to the Green Cove Springs community in 1973 from Rhode Island. Cheryl was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys in life. Mrs. Schumacher was preceded in death by her son David; her parents; her brother; and one sister. She is survived by her husband of thirty five years, Skip Schumacher; two sons: Bobby Schumacher (Diana Weiss) of Jacksonville and Chris Schumacher (Marjorie) of Seattle, WA; one sister, Robin Scalon of Houston; three grandchildren, Kayla, Brianna, and Jamie; and many extended family members. A vigil service led by Father Donal Sullivan will be held in the chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 6:00 pm. Visitation will follow from 6:30 until 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 10:00 am with Father Donal Sullivan as Celebrant.
