Major Clifford O’Neal Bartlett, 82, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2007. He was born on November 24, 1924 in Savannah, GA to parents, Roy and Mildred Bartlett. Major Bartlett was retired from the United States Army and was a combat veteran of World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War. He moved to the Jacksonville area over 40 years ago after coming home from overseas. He was a member of Swiss Cove Christian Church and will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 51 years, Betty Bartlett and his son, Clifford “Cliff” Bartlett. Survivors include his daughters, Debi Uhrig (Howard) of Rincon, GA and Patti Yates (Doug) of Green Cove Springs, FL; grandchildren, Troy Rochford, Douglas Yates (Rachel), Jacob Yates, Catharine Yates and Clifford Bartlett; step-granddaughter, Heather Thompson and step-great-grandchildren, Janie, Daniel, Katlyn and Lacy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, October 12, 2007 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Reverend Jim Jacobs officiating. Full military honors will be given at the service.
