Donald F. Townsend

Donald F. Townsend, 56, of Orange Park, FL passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007. Mr. Townsend was born to parents Leland and Frances Townsend on April 26, 1951 in Lynn, MA. A Vietnam veteran, he honorably served his country in The United States Air Force and moved to the Orange Park community, from Lynn, in 1974. He was a big sports fan and loved all football, especially the Oakland Raiders. He also enjoyed fishing and was a history and war buff. Above all, Donald loved spending time with his family and his cat. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Frances Townsend; two sons: Kevin Townsend of Middleburg, FL and Charles Townsend of Daytona Beach, FL; a daughter, Dawn Rud (Luke) of Orange Park, FL; two brothers: Richard Townsend (Rosalyn) of Jacksonville, FL and Robert Townsend (Jane) of Libertyville, IL; one sister, Nancy Palladino of Jacksonville, FL; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Mackenzie. Memorial services with military honors will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 7:00 pm with Reverend Tim Hall officiating.
