Alma C. Pierson, 88, a long time resident of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed over on Saturday, August 18, 2012, peacefully and in the loving care of her family, Haven Hospice, and the attentive staff at South Lake Rehabilitation Center, Jacksonville. Alma grew up a genuine country girl, a matter of which she always took great pride. Living in Waycross, GA, she met, fell in love with, and married Navy man Jim Pierson, whom she would honor and cherish the rest of her life. Alma was preceded in death by her brother Charlie Cowart, her son James, and great-grandson John Michael Hall, III. Surviving Alma and sharing in the warmth of her love are her husband Jim, daughters Patsy Hilton, of Waycross, and Nora Milne (Doug) of Jacksonville, grandchildren Charles Hilton of Waycross, Ray Hilton (Tiffany) of Orlando, and Robby Hilton, of Waycross, Haley Long (Scott) of Gainesville, FL, and John Michael Hall of Green Cove Springs. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. Alma was a loving influence on every member of her family, and all others whom she encountered during her full and caring life. A long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church, Green Cove Springs, her funeral services will be held there on Wednesday, August 22, at 10:30 am with Rev. Dr. John Ragsdale officiating.
