Richard Elwood Loper

Richard Elwood “Dick” Loper, 75, passed away Friday, November 23, 2007 after a long illness with Parkinson’s Disease. A native of Hortense, GA, he was of the Baptist faith and had lived in the Orange Park area for many years. He was a son of the late Major and Lydia Loper. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having honorably served in The United States Army. Survivors are his wife Dorothy Loper; a daughter, Judy Loper; a son, Joey Loper; one grandson, Matthew Teuton; three great grandsons: Michael, Travis, and Andrew Teuton, all of Green Cove Springs; a sister, Helen Williams (W.L.) of Hortense, GA; and his beloved dog, “Piggy.” A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Broadus-Raines Chapel officiated by Reverend Charlie Hunt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32082.
