Richard Elwood Loper

January 18, 1932 — November 23, 2007

Richard Elwood “Dick” Loper, 75, passed away Friday, November 23, 2007 after a long illness with Parkinson’s Disease. A native of Hortense, GA, he was of the Baptist faith and had lived in the Orange Park area for many years. He was a son of the late Major and Lydia Loper. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having honorably served in The United States Army. Survivors are his wife Dorothy Loper; a daughter, Judy Loper; a son, Joey Loper; one grandson, Matthew Teuton; three great grandsons: Michael, Travis, and Andrew Teuton, all of Green Cove Springs; a sister, Helen Williams (W.L.) of Hortense, GA; and his beloved dog, “Piggy.” A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Broadus-Raines Chapel officiated by Reverend Charlie Hunt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32082. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, 501 Spring Street, Green Cove Springs, FL (904) 284-4000.
