Edna Q. Heinton, born December 15, 1919 in Mobile, AL, departed this life December 3, 2007. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories a devoted and loving son, Eric, his wife Mary, their three children Connor, Quinn and Drew of Fleming Island, FL; her daughter Patty Grissom of Mt. Juliet, TN; and her daughter Jonna Pettit and son Aaron of Orlando, FL. Edna resided at the The Allegro in Fleming Island, FL for the past three years. She previously resided in Orlando, FL with her late husband of 61 years, Lt. Col. John W. Heinton. After retiring from her career with the State of Florida in March 1984, Edna continued her active lifestyle as a talented dancer with The Entertainers, volunteering for the Red Cross and socializing in the Red Hat Society. Edna also enjoyed bowling and gardening. Her spirit, energy, humor and warmth will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a beautiful lady, both inside and out. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 6, 2007 from 6-8 pm at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 7, 2007 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
