James L. Evernden, 67, of Orange Park, FL passed away Thursday, December 6, 2007. He was born on January 1, 1940 in Pensacola, FL and lived in Chicago for over thirty years before moving to Orange Park in February 2007. He was a member of St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church in Jacksonville and was a retired broker in stocks and commodities. Mr. Evernden was a devoted Gator fan. He attended University of Florida for two years and was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He was an excellent bowler, often scoring 299’s and 300’s. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and being outdoors. Jim was a loving brother and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marguerite Evernden. He is survived by his brother, Rick Evernden; sister-in-law, Angie Evernden; a niece, Amber; two nephews: Chad and Chip; and an aunt, Helen, and uncle, John Chitty. The family will receive friends at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 5753 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, on Monday, December 10, 2007 from 5:30 until 7:30 pm.
