Marjorie Whitteberry, 81, of Penney Farms, FL passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007. Mrs. Whitteberry was born on August 25, 1926 to parents Addison and Florence Knapp in Katonah, NY. She graduated from Katonah High School and later married Paul N. Whitteberry. He served as a United Methodist Minister and as a pastor’s wife she was a member of the United Methodist Women and served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She and Paul owned and operated Plymouth Rock KOA, Kampgrounds of America, in Middleboro, MA for fifteen years. She moved to Penney Farms Retirement Community in 1996 from Terryville, CT and became a member of Penney Writers and also enjoyed volunteer work at the resale shop. Mrs. Whitteberry was a loving and devoted wife and mother; she will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and by three sisters and a brother. She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty three years, Paul N. Whitteberry; one son, David P. Whitteberry of Winter Gardens, FL; two daughters, Susan F. Freesen (Guy) of Stauton, VA and Barbara Zachs (Todd) of Simsbury, CT; one sister, Helen Roberts of Shelton, CT; and eight grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Penney Memorial Church officiated by Reverend Orlando Tibbets. Interment will follow in Penney Farms Retirement Community Cemetery.
