Mary Ellen Simmons

Mary Ellen Simmons, 66, of Orange Park, FL passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007. Mrs. Simmons was born on April 24, 1941 to parents Carl and Annie Lee Duncan in Bluefield, WV. She moved to the Jacksonville area in the 1950’s and then to Orange Park in 1968. She was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church and loved all children. Mary Ellen was a devoted and loving mother and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband of thirty five years, Reuben Simmons, Sr.; five children: James Boyett (Diana), Carl Boyett (Linda), William Boyett (Janice), Lorraine Noe (Bill), and Reuben Simmons, Jr.; three brothers: Walter Duncan (Christine), Lewis Odel Duncan, and Levi Duncan (Elizabeth); one sister, Nancy Fussell (Johnny); 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home on Friday, December 14, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Ronnie Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Peoria Cemetery.
