Harriett Knowles Smith

Harriett Knowles Smith, 74, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012. She was born on June 9, 1938 in Green Cove Springs to parents Julius and Lorene Knowles. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She loved working in her yard, watching Little House on the Prairie and the Andy Griffith Show. She enjoyed Gator Football and will be missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Buddy Knowles. Survivors include her husband Johnny Smith; sons, Darrell Smith (Charlene) and Jason Smith (Beverly); brother, Eddie Knowles; sisters, Margarett Taylor, Helen Rankin, Betty Murrhee and Patricia Davidson (David) and 5 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 12, 2012 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Charlie Hunt and Rev. Joe Foster officiating.
