Ken Clevinger, 83, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007. Mr. Clevinger was born on April 4, 1924 to parents Ollan L. and Florence Clevinger in Charleston, WV and moved to the Green Cove Springs area in August of 1954. A World War II veteran, Ken honorably served his nation in The United States Air Force and Air National Guard. While in the military he also played in the orchestra. He was a volunteer with Green Cove Springs Rescue for many years and also a former member of the Radio Club. He owned and operated Mobile Saw Filing Service from 1975 to 1985 and later in life, mechanics became his favorite pastime and he especially loved working on lawnmower engines. Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; and by one brother, Kermit C. Clevinger. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty one years, Maxine B. Clevinger; two sons: Ron D. Clevinger (Patti) and Kenny R. Clevinger (Julie); one daughter, Sherri Wilkes (Jim); one brother, Earl J. Clevinger; six grandchildren: Jamey, Brian, Ashley, Matthew, Jenna, and Shelby; and three great-grandchildren: Maxie, Dalton, and Aaliyah. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Saturday, December 22, 2007 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. Funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm officiated by Claude McEldowney.
