Steven A. Melson, 63, of Middleburg, FL, passed away December 12, 2012. He was born on December 27, 1948 in Jacksonville to parents Samuel and Nancy (Reddington) Melson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, youth sports coach and mentor. A Jacksonville native, Steve graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and San Angelo State University. Steve was an avid reader and some of his favorite pastimes were travelling, crossword puzzles, playing pool and running. He received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force where he served as a Bulgarian Linguist. He had a long career human resources and insurance. Steve was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judith Key Melson; son, Bryant A. Melson; daughters, Robin L. (Bradley) Winder and Nancy “Sher” Brean; brother, Richard D. (Carol) Melson; sisters, Elizabeth (Norm Webb) Wood and Sandy (Mike) Amason; grandchildren, Tanner, Mackenzie, Barrett, Tyler, Gabriel, Luke and Kinley, and a number of other relatives and close friends.
