Ronald Gene Wasson

Ronald G. Wasson, 78, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away December 22, 2012. He was born in Peoria, IL, to parents, Rolland and Marvel Wasson. He attended high school in Peoria and Lewistown, IL, graduating in 1952. Ronald joined the Navy for four years and then began working for Caterpillar Incorporated until his retirement in 1990. At that time he moved to Fleming Island where he enjoyed a retirement of fishing, golf and travel. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, and is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Norma J. Wasson; daughter, Debra Ann Lawrence (Chasel); son, Stephen Wasson; stepdaughters, Sherri Alexander (Hardie) and Susan Smith; stepsons, Stephen Smith and Stuart Smith; beloved grandsons, granddaughters, and great grandchildren; as well as many friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law and brother-in-law. A private family memorial will be held.
