Catherine I. Smith

Catherine (Cathie) I. Smith passed away January 21, 2008 at the age of 74. Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada she was paymaster for Smiles & Chuckles Candy Company for many years until its closing. She was predeceased by her parents George and Isabelle Norrie and sister/brother in law Jessie and Wilbert Lorentz. She is survived by her husband Eugene Smith, Jacksonville, sister Ruth (Weiss) Wiseman, brother David (Sheila) Norrie, nieces Diane & Dan Barrie, Patricia & Bill Barth, Cathy and Todd Madill, nephew David and Lorriane Lorentz and their children, Ontario, Canada. Godchild Catherine and Glen Shantz and their children and her very dear friends Gerry and Don Smiley all from Canada. Husbands side, son-in-law Eric Smith, sister-in-law Eleanor Smith, grand sons, Jeffery and Vicky Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Scott and Jeannie Thompson, Traci Thompson and great grandchild daughter Christy and all their children and all her many dear and loved friends. Cathy was very active in the Flying Fez with the Morocco Shrine of Jacksonville. She was one of the hardest workers in the association helping with their many projects to benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children. She will be missed by all that loved her very much. A memorial is scheduled for 2 PM, February 9, 2008 at the Broadus-Raines Funeral Home Chapel, 501 Spring Street, Green Cove Springs, Florida.
