Katy Lucile Wager Foy went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2008. Lucile was a native of Green Cove Springs, born February 12, 1918. She was a 1937 graduate of Clay High School and earned a beautician’s license from the WPA at Camp Roosevelt, Ocala, FL, 1941. She was a lifelong member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, worked as a nurse’s aide in the 1930’s at Dr. Fisher’s Hospital, and active in the Cub Scouts. “Grandmother Foy” loved reading the Bible, taking care of children and family, expressed Christian hospitality to all who entered her home, and enjoyed fishing and gardening. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Manita Knowles and Leslie Taylor of GCS and Mary Schall of West Palm Beach; her brother, Eugene Wager; her husband of forty five years: Anderson “Andy” Foy and a daughter, Willena Williams of Jacksonville, FL. Lucile is survived by two sisters: Emily Tillis of Palatka, FL, and Evelyn Bland of GCS; one daughter, Marlene Muilenburg (Steve) of GCS; three sons: Stanley Foy (Peggy) of Electic, AL, Danny Lynn Foy (Theresa) of Valley, AL, and Bruce Foy (Lynn) of GCS; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and loving friends. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Hickory Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2:00 pm officiated by Reverend Mike Madaris and Reverend Randy Williams. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Hospice of NE Florida in Lucile’s memory are appreciated.
