Wilbert “Will” Maki, passed away January 19, 2013 in Orange Park, FL at the age of 79. He was born to Alexander and Olga Maki on September 7, 1933 in Hancock, Michigan. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1961 as a traffic analyst and later worked as an investigator for the National Security Agency, retiring in 1980. Will became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on February 1, 1983 when he joined the Fort Myers, Florida Lodge #1899. He was a Past Governor and earned his Fellowship Degree on June 19, 1989 and his Pilgrim Degree on June 1, 1996. He sponsored 281 members in his lifetime. He came to Moosehaven on November 8, 2006 where he resided for 6 years. Memorial Services will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Moosehaven Chapel. The services will be conducted by Rev. Helen Taylor and Opportunity Lodge. He is preceded in death by one sister Edna Autio and three brothers Eddie Maki, Alfred Maki, and Abby Maki. Will is survived by Mary Parznip Maki; daughter, Linda Miraglia and husband Gus of Millers Creek, NC; one step-son Barry Boyle of Boonsboro, MD; two step-daughters Helen Gerretson and husband Rick of Plant City, FL; and Terry Miller and husband Dwayne of Chesterfield, VA; four grandchildren, six step grandchildren, and two great step grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Ruth Jurva and husband Roy of Houghton, MI. Memorials may be made to Mooseheart Child City and School, Mooseheart, IL 60539.
