James J. Richardson, 84, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He was born on October 5, 1928 in Lima, OH to parents John E. and Francis Rothe Richardson. James has been a resident of Florida for over 30 years and was of the Baptist faith. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII and earned a WWII Victory Medal. James was a MARS Ham Radio operator and first responder. He retired from General Motors where he worked as an assembly line worker. In his free he time enjoyed gardening. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Green Cove Springs VFW post #1988 and The Eagles Club in Ohio. James was a loving, sweet daddy and wonderful Grandpa and PaPaw and will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Richardson; 8 children, Mary Lou, Steven, Debbie, John, Janet, Sandy, Sonya and Bobbijo; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 1, 2013 in the Broadus-Raines chapel with Brother Jodie Davis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
