Everson Melvin Rogers, 77, of Orange Park, FL passed away Friday, March 8, 2013. He was born on April 11, 1935 in North Conway, NH to parents Scott Frederick and Geneva Madeline Rogers. Mr. Rogers lived in Satellite Beach, FL where he was stationed at Patrick Air Force Base before moving to Orange Park, FL where he has lived for the past 31 years. Mr. Rogers served his nation in The United States Air Force and retired after 26 1/2 years of honorable service. He was a Senior Systems Analysis for the Unysis Corporation. Mr. Rogers is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, June Rogers; five children: Karl Rogers of Jacksonville, FL, Ret. US Army Sergeant Kurt Rogers (Christie) of Middleburg, FL, Kerry Rogers (Melissa) of Riverview, FL, Sergeant 1st Class US Army Kory Rogers (Heather) of Ft. Stewart, GA, Lieutenant Colonel US Army Kristian Rogers (Leslie), Clarksville, TN and adopted daughter, Martina Johnston of Orange Park, FL; mother-in-law, Anne Myslivy; brother, Errol Rogers of Syracuse, NY; eleven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and one on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews and his faithful dog “Missy”. A Graveside Service will be held in his honor at 11:30 am on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road Jacksonville, FL 32218 with military honors.
